Rhodesia had some of the nicest medals ever made. There were also medals made for collectors sets and some of these have been sold as genuine issue. Some medals from collectors sets have also been named with a recipients details and sold as such. Collectors must be aware of what to look for so as to not be conned.

Listed on eBay in November 2012. This is a Bronze Cross of Rhodesia (BCR), possibly from a collectors set that has been stamped with the details of Robert (Bob) MacKenzie SCR BCR. The medal is a very bad copy and the fourth photo shows how it should look if it was genuine. Regiments were never displayed on the reverse.
The medals were die-struck and of quality comparable to British awards and medals.

Listed on eBay in March 2012. This is a Bronze Cross of Rhodesia (BCR), possibly from a collectors set that has been stamped with the details of Trooper D.J. Riekert.
The fourth photo shows the difference between the fake and the genuine item.
